Thank you for visiting my page. Below is a little background of who I am and how I got to be where I am.
My name is Shannon Hart, I am a full time Mid-Michigan based landscape photographer. I am very blessed to have my work displayed in office buildings, cabins and homes. Traveling to some of the most beautiful places, you can get caught up in wanting to shoot right away. This is where I tell myself to feel, then shoot. When I slow down and feel the scene, I often come away with my best photography. This might not result in a photograph of the grand vista I came to view but a unique prospective of that vista. I get joy out of shooting photographs that intrigue people to want; whether it is for them to want to take that path, drive that road, or view that perfect spot. I love to travel and naturally I want to share these places with others to show them their beauty. If you see me out shooting, it is likely you will see me laying on the ground, standing on my vehicle, or enduring below zero conditions to get that perfect “wow” moment. I have done my job if my photography leaves you wanting, “Escape to Wow!”
I have been interested in photography since I was a child. My mother is a professional artist and photographer, so I was very fortunate to grow up traveling to some amazing places throughout the U.S. and the world. Even though I only had film and an inexpensive camera back then, it was a way for me to preserve the memories of those places. I believe that is where my infatuation with photography began. However, even with my love for photography, I did not go to school for it. Instead, I studied business management at Central Michigan University and landed a great job working for the Michigan state government as an Information Technology Programmer/Analyst. During this time, my husband and I traveled the country, and I picked up every book I could to learn more about becoming a better photographer. In 2013, I officially created my professional photography business. A year after having my twin sons, I left my job at the state to stay home with my family and to work full time on building my photography career.
I currently reside in Williamston, Michigan with my husband, Jeff; our twin sons, and our Beagle, Junior. We are an outdoor family and we love to go hiking, fishing, and biking any chance we get.
