With Spring comes thunderstorms and on a warm spring night in May of 2018 that's what we got. The large storm was north of my location allowing me to capture this beautiful sight. I loved that you could see the stars above the storm. It was an added bonus that the moon was almost full which allowed you to see the reflection of the storm on the pond.
I had originally visited P.J. Hoffmaster State Park to see Lake Michigan. However, it was very foggy. I figured I would walk the beach to a pine tree about 1/4 of a mile away and see if I could find anything of interest. I found nothing but as luck would have it, I got to the pine tree and saw a sign that said "Walk-A-Mile" that lead up the dunes and into the woods. I will assure you it wasn't a creepy hand written sign leading people into the woods, it was a state park sign. As you can see it turned out to be a lovely hike with plenty of hills and valleys. I will also have to say the name is a bit of a misnomer as it is longer than a mile but a little more hiking isn't going to hurt.
The rocks around Miners Castle glow with the beautiful warmth from the sun.
