Beautiful white puffy clouds and fantastic blue skies reflected on the pier overlooking the St. Joseph Lighthouse just before a large wave disrupted the calmness of the scene.
I usually leave at the last minute when I know the weather/sunrise/sunset is going to be ideal however I didn't have the luxury of that for my trip to the western lighthouses in the Straits of Mackinac this year. I had to book this trip well in advanced and just had to hope the weather was going to be good. It turned out better than I ever dreamed it would. The water was calm, the evening light was prefect and the sunset turned out to be nothing short of amazing. As I took this shot the tour guide proclaimed "This is a million dollar shot folks." While I surely won't make a million dollars, I'll settle with this million dollar view of the White Shoal Lighthouse.
