This beautiful and unique waterfall falls into the what some call the "Grand Canyon of Michigan." While much smaller than the one out west, it has its own charm and beauty. To get to the Falls/Canyon/Gorge you just have to take a short hike along the Sturgeon river at a road side park in the UP. It truly doesn't look like your typical Michigan scenery. Canyon Falls, Baraga County, Michigan
Early and late season snow storms are my favorite because the storms usually bring very wet snow which allows the snow to stick to everything. Since we just got about six inches of wet snow yesterday, I figured I would slowly slide away from my beloved season; fall and start showing the beauty of Winter.
Manabezho Falls is one of the beautiful waterfalls found in the very western part of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. In fact it is so far west that is over 600 miles from Detroit, Michigan. 600 miles will practicality get you to New York City from Detroit, Michigan. Crazy, ah? Although, I love New York City, I prefer to visit the UP in the Fall. The width of the Presque Isle River and the variations in the water levels of the river allow for a different view every time I have visited.
