In far western Michigan, where even the time zone is different than the rest of Michigan, you can find this rocky waterfall on the Presque Isle River. Manabezho Falls is just one of the many waterfalls in the last mile stretch before the river meets Lake Superior. The view of the waterfall from above allows you to see the different paths the river is forced to take before dropping 25 feet.
This was one of the most magical sunsets I have ever seen (to date). The cloud cover was so heavy, I couldn’t even see the sun, I was really questioning why I was still there. The only reason I stuck it out was because there was a thin band on the horizon where the clouds weren’t. As luck would have it, the sky transformed into an amazing sunset; pinks, purples, and yellows. I was literally jumping up and down at the sight of it. I am pretty sure if anyone saw me, they’d think I was nuts. Nope, just a really happy photographer!
Dead trees can be found along the Silver Lake Sand Dunes in Mears, Michigan. These trees have so much character and must have such a story to tell.
