"The Pot Holes" can be found on the Presque Isle River in the Porcupine Mountain Wilderness State Park in the western Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Through the years the rocks have been eroded away to create these impressive holes in the river bed.
Anyone that has driven in Michigan knows why we are notorious for our pot holes. Winter seems to bring out these pot holes. However, the best pot holes you can find in Michigan are found in nature; winter, spring, summer or Fall! When the water is raging like this, you can see how these pot holes are actually created.
With strong wind out of the north west, waves built on Lake Michigan and eventually crashed over the breakwall at the St. Joseph Lighthouse in St. Joseph, Michigan. It was fascinating to watch how each wave hit the breakwall differently. It was difficult to choose one picture over another but I liked how this one showed the force of which these waves had.
