This barn has so much character and charm. The Traverse City area has an abundant amount of these lovely farms and if you are like me you can spend hours in the area just driving around looking for scenes like this.

Sugarloaf Mountain near Marquette, Michigan is always a fun place to visit and a great hike to the top. You have the choice between the "easy" way or the "difficult" way to get to the top. Either way is a good short workout especially if you are carrying heavy photography equipment and/or a toddler on your back. The easy way has many steps and the difficult way is very rocky, and has many roots. I enjoy going up the difficult side and coming down the easy way. Anyway you get there, it is worth it for the views at the top, especially when you come for a sunset (or sunrise)!
