I don’t know why I drove past Agate Falls in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, so many times but I am glad I made a point to stop here this time. The Ontonagon River falls 40 feet in a beautiful cascading fashion to give you this beautiful view. The trail to this viewpoint is not for the faint of heart but well worth it.
The lake laid down as the sun was starting to set on the beautiful White Shoal Lighthouse. The reflection of the lighthouse was reminiscent of a Monet painting.
Anyone that has lived in Michigan knows that the conditions in the Winter in can change rapidly. For example, this shot was taken in late December and only a few days later the lighthouse was covered in ice and snow and the temperature is about 30 degrees colder. This picture looks so warm and inviting it almost could pass for a summer picture.
