Since 1935 this unique lighthouse; Grays Reef, has protected ships from a shallow reef. This lighthouse stands 65 feet tall in the northern part of Lake Michigan. I loved that the golden sunset lit up the side of the lighthouse with its beautiful rays.
If you are looking for an easy (non-paved) hike while visiting Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, Miners Falls is a great option. I visited the falls on a rainy/misty day and it was wonderful. The trail was lined with hundreds of wild flowers making for an added bonus on an already great trail.
For anyone that has a fear of bridges, Mackinac Bridge in Michigan would be one of your least favorite ones to cross. The bridge has a total of four lanes and half of those lanes have grates that allow you to see the water below. Not only that but the grates cause the car to move around and also makes noise while driving on it. If you can't do it, you are in luck and not the only one, the Bridge Authority will actually drive you and your vehicle across the bridge for you. This is a shot from under the bridge looking at those grates.
