I always thought it was pretty cool to see large waves hit the rocky shores of Lakes Superior but it became a little intimidating when so many slammed the shore and so quickly one fall night. I salute the sailors of the Great Lakes as they brave these inland seas.
I am always looking for local roads and hikes to find great fall color each fall. I was able to find this beautiful road in my local area and couldn't be more happy to find this in my neighborhood.
I am like a moth to a light whenever I hear there are Gale Warnings on the Great Lakes. I love seeing the power of what wind can do to these massive bodies of water. It is hard to show the scale of the waves without a measured object it its path. Lucky for us we have many awesome lighthouses along the shores. So to give you perspective, the Frankfort Lighthouse is 67 feet tall; another words almost 5 stories tall.
