During the Spring, wildflowers take over the ground floor of the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Trillium is usually the first to bloom and tends to be found in bunches. This creates a beautiful blanket of Trillium to brighten up the ground floor.
During the Winter months on the west side of Grand Island, you are treated to a towering wall of ice with many tones of blue. I jumped at the chance to visit these caves on such a whim because the forecast was predicted such great weather. The sun was shinning perfectly on the ice and made it shimmer so nicely. I think the sun actually brought out the various tones of blues too. Not only was it cool to see this large ice face it was an extra treat to see ice climbers challenging themselves to get to the top.
One of my favorite places in Copper Harbor, Michigan to visit is a place called Bare Bluff. After hiking straight up you get to the top and get to see a view that seems to goes on forever. Although it is easy to take a shot of the wide expansive view. I choose to zoom in on the interesting bays along the tip of the Keweenaw Peninsula. I called this photograph "Boat House Haven" because in the last bay you can see a boat house that has quite the location and view.
