Anna Maria, Florida in April 2016
After a curvy drive up the hillside you are treated to a great view of Copper Harbor. Sometimes, if you get lucky, you can see the freighters in the distance. The view of the clouds were fascinating with all of the layers and lines in them. All that character made for a beautiful moody shot.
After a large ship sank just outside this location in the 1860's, Congress provisioned funds to build a lighthouse to protect the ship's from the areas shallow reef. Delayed by the Civil War, it was completed and lit in 1870. I have always thought this lighthouse was unique due to its similarities to a school house.
