This glacier is Svínafellsjökull, in southern Iceland, it is sometimes referred to as a tongue glacier. The reason for that is that this glacier is actually part of a the massive ice cap called Vatnajökull. Svínafellsjökull comes off of Vatnajökull and slides between two mountains making it look like a tongue.
This is "Lake Of The Clouds" in the Porcupine Mountain Wilderness State Park in Ontonagon, Michigan. I showed up in the pitch dark, having never been there before, only hoping I was going in the right direction and hoping to not fall off a cliff, I also did not know if the fall colors were truly peak or not. As the first light came over the mountain I knew I was where I needed to be, the sunrise illuminated the perfect fall peak colors I was hoping for and as a bonus the sunrise placed its beautiful rays across the escarpment; such a beautiful place.
