On my second visit of the day to Sugarloaf Mountain I was photographing the contrasting fall colors to the west and a collage age person walked up and found a spot to sit on a rocky escarpment. I couldn't help but stop and snap a shot of her. I thought to myself what a wonderful place to escape to and to take a break.
One of my favorite places in Copper Harbor, Michigan to visit is a place called Bare Bluff. After hiking straight up you get to the top and get to see a view that seems to goes on forever. Although it is easy to take a shot of the wide expansive view. I choose to zoom in on the interesting bays along the tip of the Keweenaw Peninsula. I called this photograph "Boat House Haven" because in the last bay you can see a boat house that has quite the location and view.
One of my favorite places to photograph in Michigan is Silver Lake Sand Dunes in Mears. I love that the dunes are always changing and you can always find so much character there. The sun was getting lower and it was starting to get into what photographers call the golden hour. This is where the sun is diffused by the atmosphere and the light softens. I couldn’t help but be drawn to this lone tree....
