Severe thunderstorm warning was issued Friday, July 8th 2016 for Lansing, Michigan and the surrounding areas. The storm had a top wind speed of 63 miles an hour, it knocked down hundreds of trees and knocked power out to thousands of people.
Since 1935 this unique lighthouse; Grays Reef, has protected ships from a shallow reef. This lighthouse stands 65 feet tall in the northern part of Lake Michigan. I loved that the golden sunset lit up the side of the lighthouse with its beautiful rays.
Since it was snowing in Marquette, Michigan I figured I would take a drive up to Big Bay and check out the view at Thomas Rock. As I got closer the sun came out, which was such a welcomed treat because the sun has been hiding for most of the fall up here. I walked up, well rather ran up to Thomas Rock because I didn't want to miss the beautiful sun. This is the first view I saw and I thought it was perfect; the beautiful sun shinning on the trees perfectly with these awesome clouds. I ran around and took as many shots as I could before the sun disappeared again. It only lasted about 15 minutes and the sun was gone and it started to snow heavily.
