During my fall trip to the Traverse City area, I took the backroads to my locations in hopes of finding some peaceful fall roads and I will have to say I found a few that were exactly what I was looking forward to
During the Spring, wildflowers take over the ground floor of the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Trillium is usually the first to bloom and tends to be found in bunches. This creates a beautiful blanket of Trillium to brighten up the ground floor.
During the Winter months on the west side of Grand Island, you are treated to a towering wall of ice with many tones of blue. I jumped at the chance to visit these caves on such a whim because the forecast was predicted such great weather. The sun was shinning perfectly on the ice and made it shimmer so nicely. I think the sun actually brought out the various tones of blues too. Not only was it cool to see this large ice face it was an extra treat to see ice climbers challenging themselves to get to the top.
