Upper Tahquamenon Falls is always a treat to visit. This waterfall is easily accessible all year round. The waterfall gets its amber color from the cedar, spruce and hemlock swamps up river. It is easy to see why people come from all over the country and world to visit this 48 foot tall and over 200 wide waterfall.
Usually the northern lights are drowned out by a full moon, however that wasn't the case this August when I saw them in Copper Harbor, Michigan. Normally you shoot away from bright lights for night photography but I decided to switch it up and take a shot of the full moon and the northern lights. I loved how the northern lights and the full moon fought to be the brightest light.
View No Longer…The Grand Haven Lighthouse finally has its catwalk back (the black steel elevated walkway between each light and the shore) and with that these views are no longer possible. I am glad that the catwalk is back but glad I got the opportunity to photograph beautiful scenes like this. I loved the lighthouse reflection with this amazing sunset.
