My husband called me outside to check out this "really weird" sky, naturally I was curious what he meant by "really weird." I am not sure what caused the sky to be so unusual but I snapped as many shots as I could. I would have to agree with him it was really weird. The different layers of clouds, coupled with all the different colors was really cool.
Nestled in the tip of a peninsula of a peninsula, Estivant Pines Nature Sanctuary houses an old growth forest of Eastern White Pines. Some of these white pines are estimated to be over 3 feet in diameter, 300-500 years old and reach heights of 125 feet tall.
No matter where you are you can always find beauty around you. This Mid-Michigan park; Eastgate Park is no exception. If you follow those footprints you will reach the start of the trailhead. The trail leads you into the woods where you can follow along the side of the Red Cedar River.
