This was caught looking south on Whitefish Bay National Forest Scenic Byway South of Paradise, Michigan on August 2nd 2016.
This was one of the best sunset afterglows I have seen and what better place to experience it than at the frozen St. Joseph Lighthouse in St. Joseph, Michigan. It didn't matter which way you looked, the colors were everywhere.
This was one of the most magical sunsets I have ever seen (to date). The cloud cover was so heavy, I couldn’t even see the sun, I was really questioning why I was still there. The only reason I stuck it out was because there was a thin band on the horizon where the clouds weren’t. As luck would have it, the sky transformed into an amazing sunset; pinks, purples, and yellows. I was literally jumping up and down at the sight of it. I am pretty sure if anyone saw me, they’d think I was nuts. Nope, just a really happy photographer!
