The remoteness of this place is one of the things that drew me to visit it. It is an 11 hour non-stop drive from Detroit (or 600 miles for non-Michiganders). And an entirely up hill hike, after which you are treated to this wonderful view. From this viewpoint you have an almost birds eye view of the actual tip of the Keweenaw Peninsula. Sometimes cloudy days can actually aid in the beauty of the fall colors.
The rocks around Miners Castle glow with the beautiful warmth from the sun.
