Gullfoss Glow

Gullfoss is one of Iceland's most popular tourist attractions. As you can tell from the few people that are in the photograph, this waterfall is unique and massive. This photograph was taken as the sun was "setting" during the midnight sun.

Where The Plates Meet

Oxararfoss is a waterfall in western Iceland located in the Thingvellir National Park. Thingvellir National Park is where the Eurasian and North-American tectonic plates meet. This was hours before sunset during the summer.

Waterfall Of The Gods

Goðafoss (which means "Waterfall of the Gods") is a beautiful waterfall that is found in northeastern region of Iceland. This waterfall is reminiscent of Horseshoe Falls (the waterfall next to Niagara Falls, Canada). Although this waterfall is not as big is doesn't take away from the beauty. I actually relished the remoteness of this waterfall and the barrier free viewpoints.

My favorite place in all of Iceland is Jökulsárlón. I saw many pictures before I visited and always wondered if it was just as magical as the pictures showed. I will have to say it is most definitely MAGICAL! I'll let the picture do the rest of the talking…

St. Lucian Pitons

Symmetry

One of the most photographed mountains in Iceland is Kirkjufell. You may know this mountain from the movie "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty" and/or the television show "Game of Thrones." There are many different vantage points for viewing this mountain and although the traditional view of this mountain is coupled with the nearby waterfall Kirkjufellsfoss, I really enjoyed this view. I loved the symmetry of the mountain with the reflection and the calmness of the scene.

Svínafellsjökull II

This glacier is Svínafellsjökull, in southern Iceland, it is sometimes referred to as a tongue glacier. The reason for that is that this glacier is actually part of a the massive ice cap called Vatnajökull. Svínafellsjökull comes off of Vatnajökull and slides between two mountains making it look like a tongue.

Magical Mountains

Iceland gives you hours and hours of sunsets/sunrises during the midnight sun (middle of the summer). This allowed me to really get creative with my photography and grow as a photographer.

Rest Stop

The House Below

While in Arnarstapi, Iceland, I found this beautiful house situated under a beautiful and interesting looking mountain. I loved the foreground flowers contrasting with the mountain.

St. Lucian Rainbow

Blár

Beautiful glacier water free falls 66 feet into a large pool before continuing down the river. I loved the blueness of the water paired with the awesome sunset/sunrise. I titled this one Blár for the Icelandic word for Blue.

Eye See You

An Icelandic Horse caught my eye while visiting the horses in Southern Iceland.

House Lit

Just as the sun was setting the Dyrhólaey Lighthouse in Dyrhólaey, Iceland, turned its light on. It was such a warm light that balanced nicely with the sunlight and the lovely spring flowers.

Reflecting Beauty

I love this shot! It really shows the warmness of this night. The sunset was nice and soft against the blue icebergs. This wonderful place is Jokulsarlon, Iceland. If I had one place I could visit on my return trip, this would be it.
